Residential detoxification and treatment programme

Livingstone House is the detoxification and primary treatment centre.
It offers 3 bedrooms with 2 beds in each room and 4 single rooms. This is the first port of call for all people who are admitted to the programme. On admission Service Users are comprehensively assessed and a management plan formulated by John Hagans – Clinical Nurse Specialist and the Specialist General Practitioners in Substance Misuse in conjunction with the Service User to most efficiently achieve a drug free state.
As part of this plan a comprehensive action plan is formulated which involves blood borne virus screening, vaccination and referral if necessary. Dentistry, sexual health and other physical/mental health needs are also assessed and treated.
In this time the Service User is required to engage in the programme at Livingstone House and will write a Life Story and following this commence on Step 1, Step 2 and Step 3. On completion of these assignments, the Service User then moves to Livingstone Sanctuary for their secondary treatment.
