Accessibility details Patients who are already known to the hospice can ask for support from the Well-Being Team through any staff at John Taylor Hospice. The Well-Being Team can also provide a service for other organisations. Contact 0121 465 2000 for more information.

The hospice’s Bereavement and Well-Being Team provides a service for both adults and children.
The team can see people at home, in the hospice or in the house in the grounds called Stone’s Throw. Support is provided for patients and for their families before and after their loved one has died.
The team includes bereavement counsellors, an art psychotherapist and the spiritual care lead. Counselling can be offered to individuals, to families and there is also a bereavement support group.
Art psychotherapy may be drawing or painting, creating sculpture or photography. Art psychotherapy is not about being a talented artist, it’s about experiencing relief without needing to start with words.
The team also runs Finding our Feet, a weekly walking group, each Friday. The informal group is a free service and is open to anyone who has experienced a bereavement - whether recently or some years ago.
The group meets every Friday at 11am at the Chester Road entrance to Pype Hayes Park. If you would like more information or to let us know that you’re attending Finding our Feet please call 0121 465 2000 and leave a message for Jed Jerwood or email him at jed.jerwood@nhs.net
At the hospice there is a dedicated Quiet Space that can be used by families for reflection, worship and prayer at any time of the day and night.
The hospice spiritual care lead can provide support and can also liaise with local churches, gurdwaras, mosques, meeting houses or temples, to bring faith leaders to the hospice.
