Rainbows
Rainbows is our section for girls aged five to seven.
Rainbows is all about developing self-confidence, building friendships, learning new things and having fun.
Girls get their hands dirty with arts and crafts, trying out cooking and playing games. Rainbows is all about learning by doing.

Brownies
Brownies is our section for girls aged seven to ten.
Through regular meetings, special events, day trips, sleepovers, camps and holidays, Brownies learn new hobbies, play music, explore other cultures and get adventurous outdoors.
Girls can also extend their knowledge and abilities by working towards Brownie interest badges covering many different hobbies and activities from Science investigator to Circus skills. Brownies become a member of a Six, a unit with a name such as Badger, Fox, Mole, Squirrel, Hedgehog or Rabbit, and follow a programme called the Brownie Adventure. The name reflects the world of exciting opportunities, challenges and fun that is Brownies.

Guides
Guides is our section for girls aged 10 to 14.
By becoming part of a worldwide community of girls who learn together and share skills and experiences, Guides have the chance to get out there and do something really different.
Members take part in a wide range of exciting activities at their regular meetings, and at special events or holidays. Girls can get involved in anything from adventure sports to performing arts, travel and taking part in community action projects. Guides work together in small groups or ‘Patrols’ and, with the support of an adult Leader, choose and run some of the activities themselves using Go for It! resource packs.

Senior Section
The Senior Section is for young women aged 14 to 25.
Members of The Senior Section can choose from a wide range of unique and exciting opportunities, including travel in the UK and around the world, volunteering with younger girls within Girlguiding as a Mentor or Leader, and working towards valuable qualifications.
The Senior Section offers an exciting and flexible programme with a huge variety of challenges and opportunities for personal development The Look Wider programme offers a range of activities and challenges and motivates members to try out new things – it could be learning a language, playing a musical instrument, running a marathon, camping in the wilds or volunteering overseas. It is flexible and participants can take their chosen activities as far as they wish, from taster level all the way to gaining a qualification that is recognised outside guiding.

Leaders
The Leaders Section is for women aged 18 to 65.
Welcome to our fantastic new website! We hope you enjoy seeing what we get up to at Girlguiding Birmingham!
We really want Commissioners, Leaders and volunteers to let us know what’s going on in your area. Keep in touch on Facebook and Twitter as well! I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our brilliant Leaders and volunteers for everything you do for our girls. You are amazing! We are the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK and in Birmingham, we have nearly 1,200 Leaders and volunteers who support around 4,000 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section girls across the city, offering them a wide variety of wonderful experiences and opportunites.
If you are visiting the website and would like to get involved, please contact us, as we welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, ages, cultures, faiths, and abilities. We are flexible and volunteering can be arranged around your personal lifestyle. You can help by sharing your skills and talents; if you are a good communicator; if you enjoy working as part of a team; if you enjoy trying new activities and most importantly, you enjoy having fun! If you can spare a couple of hours every month or can make a regular weekly commitment, come and join us; we would love to hear from you!

With very best wishes
Maggie Jones County Commissioner, Girlguiding Birmingham
