Our service helps those whose health and wellbeing have left them vulnerable and at risk of not managing their household and other issues effectively. We supported 98 people with practical advice, training and support with 92% reporting positive outcomes.
During 2015-16 we became an Ageing Better Hub, a Big Lottery programme which provides opportunities for older people to reduce social isolation. Since the end of the year numbers taking part are close to 130.
We have successfully helped young people and adults move into employment, education or volunteering. In March we were successful in gaining two contracts for Talent Match, a Big Lottery programme that tackles long-term unemployment for young people:
1. to host a Talent Match Coach for a year to support 18-24 year olds who have been out of work education or training (NEETs) for 12 months or more
2. to identify and refer ‘Hidden NEET’s’ (i.e. those not claiming benefits) in Shard End and Erdington.
