MENTAL HEALTH: Trauma Counselling

Working with young people aged 11 to 13 in Edgbaston who may have experienced short-term trauma because of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. Providing Therpeutic Counselling to young people and sporting and outdoor activities they can engage with at a crucial time in their development when they are transitioning from primary to secondary school. Intervention services will include outdoor activities such as sport and community engagement and a series of 5 to 6 therapy sessions to support their wellbeing. The trauma will be tackled two-fold, through high quality therapy and proactive productive activity. Clinical therapists will work with the young people over a 6-month period ensuring that they are provided with mental health support and physical activities to keep them active and well.
