Anawim is a voluntary sector organisation based in Birmingham which provides support services to women and their children at its Centre in Balsall Heath and in the community. Our key objective is to help women overcome problems or obstacles that adversely affect their lives, with the overriding aim that they achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
Our staff team compromises of a prison and outreach team, an IDVA, family support worker, an early interventions team and a mental health team. The teams work primarily in the centre at Balsall Heath but also support women in the community when required. The prison and outreach team assist women in prison, hostels, on the street and in the community but will also encourage women to attend the Centre if they can benefit from the services it provides. All staff work closely with staff from multiple agencies both at the Centre and elsewhere, including tutors and probation and mental health practitioners.
