We currently provide advocacy services to Mental Health service users that are detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 and who reside with forensic care settings across Birmingham.
An advocate will provide independent information and options to enable clients to make their own decisions on issues that affect their lives. Our advocates are fully trained Independent Mental Health Advocates (IMHS’s) and Independent Mental Capacity Advocates (IMCA).
Whilst we currently only provides advocacy within forensic sites across Birmingham we do have over 33 years’ experience of providing independent community advocacy, this includes specialist groups, including Deaf and hard of hearing, BME, LGBTQI, Older adults (both with Organic and Functional illnesses) Child and Adolescent, Eating disorders, Mother and Baby units.
