BCOP has been providing care for older people since 1946. Currently, it has three care homes with nursing in Birmingham, including provision for those with dementia.
It also owns and manages supported and independent housing schemes across the city.
From its inception, it has always had a pioneering spirit - it was the first organisation to introduce 'meals on wheels' in Birmingham and organise day trips for older people.
All of its care homes use animal-assisted therapy through on-site pet farms and all offer reminiscence therapy to help those with dementia.
It also offers transitional or episodic care to assist with discharge from hospital, provides respite care and daycare for individuals living in the community.
