Birmingham Bereavement Advice Service and helpline were created as part of the Birmingham Bereavement Care Project.
A pilot project in Birmingham discovered that during a bereavement, relatives and friends may have questions about practical concerns e.g. funeral arrangements, financial concerns, legal questions. It was also found that a central point of contract would be useful to assist in providing guidance and information. The Birmingham Bereavement Care Project decided to respond to this need with the help of Bereavement Advice Centre to set up the Birmingham Bereavement Advice website and helpline across Birmingham.
The website and helpline are available, free of charge, for all those affected by the death of someone significant to them in and around Birmingham. They help improve access to information, guidance and support on bereavement related issues in the city.
