Greencare is “structured therapy or treatment programmes that take place in natural surroundings and recognise the instinctive connection between nature and health”.
Greencare programmes are designed for people with a defined need and support them with a range of meaningful nature-based activities delivered by trained practitioners to create a sense of achievement and self-confidence. Greencare also offers opportunities to learn new skills and improve people’s connectedness with each other and with nature.
Our offer includes green exercise, community food growing and environmental conservation and we would work with partners in the public health and the NHS to see if schemes such as social prescribing lend themselves to our offer.
Nature play- creating opportunities for children to access the natural environment in a playful self-determined way.
