Park House is part of Reach Out Recovery Birmingham services in the West Midlands.

Park House is a 18 bed unit staffed by an experienced team of Specialist Doctors, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and group work specialists. The detox centre is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and supported by clinical and operational on-call systems. Park house has beds allocated to both Birmingham residents and non-Birmingham residents.

Our inpatient detoxification and stabilization service is for anyone over the age of 18 years who has a primary issue with:
Opiate use such as methadone and heroin
Alcohol
Benzodiazepines
Non-opiate drugs such as crack cocaine, legal highs, etc.
Many people who use our detox unit service:
Have previously attempted but not completed formal community-based detoxification
Need medical and/or nursing care because of significant physical or mental health problems
Require complex poly-drug detoxification, for example concurrent detoxification from alcohol or benzodiazepines
Are experiencing significant social problems that will limit the benefit of community-based detoxification

Most stays at Park House are for 2 weeks but this can vary dependent on your needs.

Park House provides a comprehensive package of medical care to support your detox or stabilization, as well as a full structure of groups and activities that supports residents to not only manage through their time with us, but also prepares people for the next stage of their recovery, whether this be managing their prescribed medication in the community or moving on to a package of community or residential rehabilitation and aftercare.

The service offers a full induction on arrival, and a comprehensive programme of group and individual work based on the Foundations of Change and Foundations of Growth programmes. These programmes ensure that residents coming through Park House are able to prepare for the changes they are making during their recovery journey, and then build on their recovery capital, developing skills and strategies to enable these changes to be sustained.

These programmes are supported by a full programme of structured activities and groups that support all residents through the detoxification and stabilisation process.
