St Paul’s Junior College has been developed to support 16 and 17 year olds who have barriers to education and employment. The college provides valuable practical learning and offers vocational qualifications as well as Functional Skills in English and Maths. The aim of the Junior College is to prepare students for the workplace.
Qualifications
Junior College will help you to achieve various qualifications which are relevant to the work place. We offer:
• NVQ Level 2 in Customer Services
• BTEC Level 1 Work Skills
• Functional Skills in Maths and English
• Additional Qualifications are available in Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding Children, Data Protection
Work Experience
All students take on a work experience placement in a variety of roles, this is to make sure that they get a ‘feel’ for the job that is right for them. Roles are available in:
Child care, Catering, Business Admin, IT and many more…..
Support
Our mentor and tutors will support and guide students in reaching individual career goals, provide ongoing support and guidance throughout the whole programme. Over the three terms students will develop key employability skills and attitudes while gaining new experiences through our work and social enterprising employment opportunities.

Progression
It is anticipated that all students will progress into employment with ourselves once they have successfully completed a probationary period.
