One to one housing related support
What is One to one housing related support?
Options for Life’s one to one Housing Related Support Service supports people who have a learning disability to live in their own homes, or somewhere else where they can get more help if needed.
The service is intended for:
-Individuals or couples
-people aged 16 or over
-people who want support to develop their skills to maintain their tenancy / live independently
We will only stop providing a service:
-if you have achieved their goals
-if you no longer want to receive support
-if there is a significant change in risk or needs which the service cannot meet
Helps with things like…
-Finding a home
-Making your home safe and secure
-Learning to cook and clean
-Managing your money / claiming benefits
-Helping you get training and a job / volunteering
-Social and leisure opportunities
-Health and safety
What we don’t do
We cannot help with personal care, e.g. washing, shaving, administering medication etc., but we can signpost you to appropriate agencies.
Where support is given
In your home regardless of where you live, including extra care projects.
Do you have to pay for this support?
Yes. You can pay for this service through your personal budget. For advice about personal budgets please contact Sandwell ASSIST on 0845 352 2266.
