Women of Yardley Unite! (WOYU+) is a women’s empowerment programme, a series of free creative sessions led by different professional artists. We use creativity to develop skills, build confidence and form local support networks and friendships.
We facilitate 2 arts & craft workshops per month, alternate by the model of artist-led and participant-led. All workshops are free for participants to attend with all materials provided. Light refreshment will also be provided.
For each session, we explore different art forms; hence we commission various artists for specific skill set and expertise. All participants are given the opportunity to lead their session, share their crafting skill and project ideas as they wish.
There are private Facebook group and WhatsApp group dedicated to the participants. They can choose to join and use it as the platforms to showcase their artworks, give peer support or have a friendly chat in their own time.
