The Birmingham Route2Wellbeing Portal is an exciting new initiative which places information about local community-based services at the fingertips of health professionals, other local support agencies and the general public.
The aim of this website is to bring existing information about the voluntary and community sector services together in to one place to make it easily navigable, thereby improving access to and understanding of voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) provision of health and wellbeing across Birmingham.
The portal was developed by Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) and Sandwell Council for Voluntary Organizations (SCVO) through funding from Sandwell and West Birmingham Clinical Commissioning Group (SWB CCG). Birmingham Better Care’s has commissioned BVSC to develop a Birmingham-wide portal based on route2wellbeing.
The site is different from existing directories insofar as it allows users to set their own location and search from a wide range of services which are specifically local to them. Information is stored on a service by service basis, meaning that organisations can have multiple listings, with each service and different location or point of access displayed for the user. The site is used not just by members of the public, but also by health professionals.
